I am a calendar man. I like having a calendar handy so I can always be reminded what day it is, or to check and see when an important date is coming up. I would have a calendar in every room of the house if Evelyn would let me do so. She does draw the line at the bathroom, but I have managed to hang calendars just about everywhere else. I have a small calendar on the visors of my automobiles. I have a calendar in my office, in the conference room, and in my secretary's office. My wristwatch even tells me what day it is. I am a calendar man. There are at least three days that should be circled on every spiritual calendar. The first is the day of salvation. "Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation" (2 Cor. 6:2). Salvation is never promised for tomorrow; it is always "today." The second important day on your spiritual calendar should be the Lord's Day. "I was in the Spirit on the Lord's Day" (Rev. 1:10). The first day of the week -- the Lord's Day -- is so important to the believer. It is, sadly, losing its luster for some today, but I believe that the Lord's Day has great significance and meaning. It is His day, not our day. The third day on the spiritual calendar is the day of Christ's return. "For you yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so comes as a thief in the night...But you, brethren, are not in darkness, so that his Day should overtake you as a thief" (1 Thess. 5:2,4). Some day will be the last day on the calendar of man. Some day Christ will return in power and glory. No man knows the day nor the hour when Christ shall return. Whatever you do, do not let that Day overtake you as a thief!
