Yesterday someone sent me an e-mail about the benefits of Real Lemon. That's the highly concentrated lemon juice that comes in a green bottle. You don't want to drink right out of the bottle like I did one hot summer day when I was a kid. Boy, did I pucker up quick! The e-mail said that mixing one tablespoon of Real Lemon in a glass of water was 10,000 times stronger than chemotherapy and that those suffering from cancer should try it. I think if I had cancer I might try this. What harm could it do? It might even help. Who knows? But there is a killer far worse than cancer. The Bible calls it "sin." Is there a miracle cure for sin? Believe it or not, the answer is in the affirmative. This is good news because the Bible says "all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" (Romans 6:23). But keep on reading. The next two verses say that we can be justified freely through the redemption that is found in Christ, whom God sent to be a propitiation (covering) "by His blood, through faith." Remember what you sang in church? "What can wash away my sin? Nothing but the blood of Jesus. What can make me whole again? Nothing but the blood of Jesus." Well, that's true. That's why Jesus shed His blood on the cross. His death was for our sins. "To Him who loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood" (Rev. 1:5). We need to believe that. We need to believe that His blood can wash away our sins. We need to act on that faith. Jesus said, "He who believes and is baptized will be saved" (Mark 16:16). The world's worst sinner (by his own testimony), Saul of Tarsus, was told, "And now why are you waiting? Arise and be baptized, and wash away your sins, calling on the name of the Lord" (Acts 22:16). "What can wash away my sins? Nothing but the blood of Jesus. What can make me whole again? Nothing but the blood of Jesus." I don't know if a tablespoon of concentrated lemon juice can cure cancer but I know that the blood of Jesus can wash away sin. Have faith in the blood of Christ. Act on your faith and submit to the treatment. Why are you waiting? Do what Saul did and you will never be the same.
